The word allergy came from the two Greek words “allos”, the meaning changed or different, and the word “ergos” meaning work or action.

People prone to allergies are said to be atopic /allergic allergies that can occur at any age. It may also develop its genetic related to a family history of allergy.

An allergy is skin sensitivity to a substance that usually does not affect other people. The skin reacts with a substance called an allergen becomes itchy and turns red.

It can also be referred to as an exaggerated reaction by our immune system in response to bodily contact with certain foreign substances. These foreign substances are generally harmless.

But for a person whose body is prone to allergies, these foreign substances are recognized by the body, and the immune system is turned on.

Substances that cause allergies are termed “allergens”. Examples include dust mites, pollen, dander, mold, and certain foods.

According to Ayurveda, food is only alien. When we eat these aliens (foreign substances) are treated by the Agni (fire) the body to change the food compatible with our body.

When Agni malfunctions, toxins are produced and the accumulation of these toxins reduces the body’s immunity and leads to diseases related to immunity.

Allergies occur when a hypersensitive immune system reacts to a common or unusual substance. Ayurvedic medicine has also been found useful for removing allergens from the body. It by helping to relieve symptoms associated with chronic fatigue syndrome. Ayurvedic medicine works in increasing the sensitivity and immunity system.

Types Of Skin Allergy

Generally, skin allergies are cauterized into four main types, each caused by different allergens. There are many ways to relieve the symptoms but it is necessary to choose an appropriate treatment. So it is important to identify which type of allergy you have.

1. Contact dermatitis

The Greek word ‘dermatitis’ means ‘skin inflammation’ this particular type of allergy is caused by a particular substance, such as by touching certain substances. In most cases, the symptom of red rash could be a number of allergens that cause it, such as plants, chemicals, metals, rubber, and even domestic animals.

2. Prickly heat

The warm or hot weather often causes an itchy red rash which is generally known as a prickly heat climate. So far the exact reason is not known, but it is believed that it is caused due to be trapped sweat under the skin.

3. Bites and Stings

When certain insects bite Irritation appears, it can be uncomfortable but it tends to be short-lived.

4. Urticaria

This type of allergy is often called nettle rash (hives) and appears as a red rash that itches, growing up in the middle. Confusingly, it is not related to stinging, but it is caused due to eating certain foods or taking a particular drug.

Home Remedies For Skin Allergy

1. Coconut oil

Coconut oil can do wonders to relieve skin allergies whether it is due to dry skin or an insect bite. The simple way to use coconut oil is to rub it directly into the affected area.

If you suffer from generalized itching all over the body bath in a tub of warm water, just pat dry, and apply the oil all over the body it is especially seen during the winter.

2. Lemon

Lemon is rich in the content of vitamin C and has bleaching properties that can be beneficial against allergies. It is one of the best home remedies that can be used for itchy skin.

The lemon contains volatile oils that have the ability to numb feelings and are also good against inflammation. It is very simple to use simply cut a lemon in half, squeeze a little juice, and apply on the affected area; allow to air dry and soon you will find some relief.

3. Tulsi /Holy basil

Tulsi leaves contain thymol, camphor, and eugenol these properties have the ability to reduce skin irritation. It is very simple to use simply wash a few leaves and rub them on the affected area.

You can also prepare an herbal tea by simply boiling a few leaves in water, dipping a cotton ball or cloth in the tea, and applying it to itchy skin.

4. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is one of the best soothing agents for effective skin because of its moisturizing properties. It is very simple to use simply rubbing the gel on an itching area it will help to reduce skin irritation.

Only use fresh aloe vera leaves, cut a leaf of the plant lengthwise with a knife, and remove the jelly-like substance from inside with the help of a spoon.

Now apply some of this gel to the affected area and leave for a few minutes soon you will find relief in itching.

Yoga For Skin Allergy

Basic yoga “Pranayama” which is a basic breathing exercise can help to remove allergens from the body it strengthens the immune system and eliminates impurities and cleans through lifestyle modifications. Yoga works to increase sensitivity and immunity to nervine force through the respiratory system.
