Golden Milk Turmeric How To Make

Golden Milk : Turmeric is one of the most valued spices and used in Ayurveda medicine for thousands of years for its great health benefits. Its properties are very numerous, but due to its effectiveness and scientific evidence, I would like to emphasize that turmeric is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anticancer.

Currently there are multiple scientific studies that demonstrate its effectiveness in these cases. For example, it is very effective in reducing joint pain that occurs with inflammation such as arthritis or tendinitis, and also in problems of the digestive system such as irritable bowel or gastritis.

Golden milk is an Ayurvedic drink that is one of the best ways to take turmeric and assimilate it correctly to take full advantage of its benefits. It is also very useful because it is a comfortable and tasty way to take it. If we want to notice the effects of turmeric it is necessary to take it daily and in a certain dose. The following recipe is one of the best ways to get it.

Golden milk recipe

This recipe has two parts, to start you have to make a turmeric paste that you can keep in the fridge for a week. With this paste you can later make golden milk.

Go ahead and prepare it, it is one of the recipes that I teach in the Ayurveda cooking and nutrition courses and people love it. Its flavor surprises, it is a delicious drink. When cooked in this way, the flavor of turmeric softens, losing its bitterness.

Ingredients for turmeric paste:

   ·  50 grams of turmeric powder
   ·  ½ teaspoon of ground pepper (3 grams)
   ·  125 milliliters of water.

Put all the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix well and stir frequently until a thick paste is obtained. When it cools, store it in an airtight glass jar.

Ingredients for golden milk:

   · 1 cup of organic and whole cow's milk (250 ml). If you do not drink cow's milk you can use a vegetable drink, the most recommended are almond or oat milk.

   · 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or ghee (5 ml). It is only necessary in case of using a vegetable milk.

   · ½ teaspoon of turmeric paste (2.5ml).

   · Honey (to taste if desired)

How to make Golden milk:

1. Put milk to heat in a vessel and add half a teaspoon of turmeric paste.

2. Heat over medium heat and constantly stir the mixture until it begins to boil. (It is only necessary to boil in the case of cow's milk, the vegetable drink only needs to be heated).

3.When it boils, turn it off and serve.

4. When ready to drink, add honey to taste and drink.

Contraindications: It is not recommended to take turmeric if you take blood thinners or if you have gallstones. In case of pregnancy or small children, consult a professional.
